Philip Perona, MD, is a highly skilled cardiologist with many years of experience diagnosing and treating cardiac and vascular diseases and conditions. Dr. Perona can help his patients with both the heart's plumbing (heart valves, arteries, and veins) and electrical (rhythm) problems.
Dr. Perona is board-certified in cardiology, cardiovascular disease, and internal medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1980, then went on to serve as a surgical intern and resident at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center. After his internship and residency, he went on to complete a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases and invasive cardiology at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation from 1985-1988. To complete his cardiovascular specialty, he also served as a special fellow in cardiac pacing and clinical electrophysiology at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation from 1988-1989.
Dr. Perona enjoys cycling, swimming, reading, and working around his home in his free time.
