What is SPEAK OUT! ?
SPEAK OUT! is a therapy program created for people with Parkinson’s disease to improve their voice and speech. In this program, training is provided to change the use of voice and speech from an automatic function to an intentional act. This results in an improvement in speaking, the ability to be heard, and overall quality of life.
What is LOUD Crowd?
After participating in the SPEAK OUT! program you are welcome to join the group session LOUD Crowd. The LOUD Crowd here at the NeuroRehab and Balance Center is unique because it also features a Reader’s Theatre! The group sessions provide an opportunity to maintain and use skills learned in SPEAK OUT! therapy. The NeuroRehab and Balance Center offers LOUD Crowd free to all SPEAK OUT! graduates.

Where can I receive SPEAK OUT! ?
SPEAK OUT! is provided by our trained speech therapists here at the NeuroRehab and Balance Center.
When and where are LOUD Crowd group sessions held?
The LOUD Crowd is offered for free to all SPEAK OUT! graduates. We meet the 3rd Thursday of each month at 5pm here at the NeuroRehab and Balance Center. We are a handicap accessible facility. Water, reading scripts, and props will be provided to all participants.
I have Parkinson’s disease. When should I see a speech therapist?
Research studies show that up to 89% of people with Parkinson’s disease will develop difficulty using their speech and voice. To delay and prevent this decline, it is best to begin speech therapy as soon as possible. Participation in SPEAK OUT! & LOUD Crowd can change the effects that Parkinson’s disease has on your communication.
