Sports Medicine Education Opportunities
Kettering Health’s sports medicine team offers learning opportunities for aspiring and current healthcare professionals.
These events cover a range of topics, helping sports medicine professionals know up-to-date methods, learn cutting-edge research findings, and address updated care guidelines.
Continuing education classes may benefit athletic trainers, team physicians, physical therapists, and other allied health professionals.
We are also an approved provider for the Ohio Department of Education Pupil Activity Permit course “First Aid for Coaches” as well as “CPR for Coaches.” Learn more about coach education.

Athletic Training in the Community
Our sports medicine team participates in multiple programs designed to benefit the community.
Public safety and first responder wellness
Kettering Health athletic trainers provide assessments, injury prevention, and injury evaluations for our public safety officials and first responders. This guidance helps our public safety officials stay healthy and safe as they serve the people of our community.
YMCAs
Our athletic trainers also work in select local YMCAs. These athletic trainers provide one-on-one assistance to YMCA members.
They guide members returning to routine workouts after sustaining an injury and teach them how to practice injury prevention. They also care for members who experience an injury on site.
Local sports teams
Many of our athletic trainers work closely with our local student and professional athletes (on and off the field).
Having certified athletic trainers on-site allows us to immediately assess a player’s injury, discerning whether a player can return to the game or needs more medical attention.
